HYDERABAD: A proposal to construct an integrated government office complex in Bahadurpura Assembly constituency was placed before A Revanth Reddy, with a request to relocate all local government offices currently functioning from rented premises.

P Rajesh Kumar, chairman of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) Election Commission Co-ordination Committee and Incharge and contested MLA candidate from Bahadurpura, welcomed the state government’s policy decision to shift offices from rented buildings to government-owned infrastructure.

He said several government offices serving Bahadurpura constituency, including the Civil Supplies department, Society for Employment Promotion and Training in Twin Cities (SETWIN), and the registration office, were operating from rented buildings or had been moved to other constituencies due to the lack of adequate government accommodation.

Offices shifted out, residents face inconvenience

Kumar told the Chief Minister that shifting offices outside the constituency was causing inconvenience to residents, who were forced to travel to different areas for routine government work.

He informed the Chief Minister that around three acres of government land located behind the Bahadurpura police station and the Bahadurpura tahsildar office had earlier been allotted to the Telangana Police Department for residential quarters.

According to Kumar, the quarters have remained unused for several years, with no police families residing there, and the structures have fallen into disuse.

Request to repurpose unused land

He requested that the land be utilised to construct an integrated complex to house all government offices related to Bahadurpura constituency at one location, describing it as a long-standing demand of local residents.

The Chief Minister responded positively to the representation and assured that the government would take a suitable decision on the proposal soon, Kumar said.
