Bagh Amberpet Residents Endure Never Ending Water Woes

HYDERABAD: Residents of Srinivasnagar Colony, located in Hyderabad’s Bagh Amberpet Division, have been experiencing problems with their drinking water supply.

For the past four months, around 17 houses in the area have been receiving contaminated water. The water is black and appears to be coming directly from a drainage system.

Speaking to the Hyderabad Mail, Venkatesh, a resident of Bagh Amberpet Division, said, “Approximately 17 households in the area are facing a dire situation due to the absence of clean drinking water.” He described a distressing scenario in which a break in the drainage or sewage pipeline had occurred, leading to the contamination of the drinking water supply.

Venkatesh expressed concern about the pipeline rupture. He is unsure of the exact location but emphasized the alarming consequence of contaminated drainage water flowing through the taps, posing a serious health hazard to the residents.

The residents of Bagh Amberpet Division are expressing their frustration over having to purchase water from outside sources for the past four months due to the contamination of their local water supply. They are concerned about the temporary solutions offered by authorities and have brought this issue to their attention.

The residents voiced their deep concern about the urgent need for a permanent solution to be implemented. Despite bringing this pressing issue to the attention of the local MLA and corporator, their efforts have unfortunately not led to any resolution.

Despite numerous complaints filed with the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, the residents have been left disappointed. They have received responses from the authorities, but no actions have been taken to address the raised issues, leaving them feeling neglected and unheard.

Despite authorities repairing the pipelines, they once again found themselves affected by contaminated water. Venkatesh firmly demanded a long-term and permanent solution to the recurring issue.
