Badangpet: Woman ends her life after pet cat death
BADANGPET: A 20-year-old woman died by suicide after being unable to cope with the death of a pet cat in Badangpet, Balapur.
The deceased, Himabindu, was a first-year student. The family had been raising a cat for the past two years. She spent most of her time caring for and playing with the animal.
Pet cat found dead near house gate early morning
On March 3, 2026, around 4 am, the cat was found lying motionless near the house gate. When family members approached, they found it dead.
Himabindu was deeply distressed by the incident.
Sister consumes poison, dies during treatment
Around 4:40 am, while a family member was at work in a recent centre city office, Himabindu consumed cockroach poison at home. Her mother noticed her behaviour and questioned her, but she did not respond. The poison container was found nearby.
She was immediately shifted to DRDO Apollo Hospital. At around 6:43 am, doctors examined her and declared her dead.
Family members stated that they have no suspicion regarding her death and said she died after consuming poison due to distress over the cat’s death.
