Traffic Circle Inspector Prasanth and his team opened two new U-turns for commuters after a user highlighted the issue on the social media page. The move has reduced travel distance and time for motorists using the busy stretches in the rapidly expanding locality.
Flyover work worsened congestion
Residents said traffic has increased steadily as more corporate employees moved to the area. The government began constructing a flyover to address long-term congestion, but the work has caused serious delays in recent months.
People have repeatedly urged authorities to speed up the project. Following sustained complaints, officials laid bitumen roads and accelerated the flyover work, residents said.
Complaint on social media triggered action
A commuter recently flagged the traffic issue on Bachupally Buzz. The post drew the attention of the traffic police, who provided a temporary alternative route before finalising the opening of the two U-turns.
Commuters thanked both the traffic police and the Instagram page for helping secure a solution they had been seeking for months.
Social media emerging as a civic grievance tool
Residents noted that approaching officers directly was often difficult earlier, but hyperlocal pages are now helping escalate civic concerns quickly. Many users said social media has changed the way issues are raised and resolved, with responses often coming within days when complaints gain visibility.
