HYDERABAD: New restrictions on ATM usage will come into effect from April 1, 2026, as per revised banking rules.

Under the new system, limits have been placed on the number of free ATM transactions. Customers will be allowed a fixed number of free withdrawals each month, after which charges will apply.

Free transaction limits revised across cities

In metropolitan areas, customers can avail up to three free ATM transactions per month. In non-metro areas, up to five free transactions will be permitted.

Banks will levy charges on additional transactions beyond these limits. The charges will vary depending on the bank’s policy.

Withdrawal amounts and charges updated

The withdrawal limits per transaction are expected to range between ₹10,000 and ₹50,000, depending on the bank and account type.

Customers are advised to check with their respective banks for updated charges and limits. The new rules are aimed at regulating ATM usage and reducing operational costs.
