Elderly woman injured in Meerpet

In another incident, an elderly woman, Yadamma, 70, suffered serious injuries when a Chinese manja string got entangled around her leg while she was walking on Almasguda main road in Meerpet. The sharp thread caused a deep cut, leading to profuse bleeding. Locals immediately came to her aid and shifted her to a nearby private hospital, where she is undergoing treatment.

Police crackdown on illegal manja

Telangana Police have reiterated their commitment to curb the sale and use of Chinese manja, which is banned under the Environment Protection Act. Authorities warned that the synthetic-coated string poses severe danger to humans, birds, and public safety.

Police appealed to citizens to avoid using banned manja and report its sale or use to local police stations.
