Water supply halted after pipeline burst

A 1,200 mm diameter PSC gravity main pipeline running from Singur to Khanapur was found ruptured near Bhulkapur village at around 5 am on Monday.

Officials immediately stopped water supply from Singur and Khanapur to prevent further water loss.

Emergency repair works began at 7 am.

MD inspects repair works

Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board Managing Director Ashok Reddy inspected the emergency repair works at the site on Monday.

He reviewed the progress with officials and directed operations and maintenance and transmission teams to coordinate and complete the repairs at the earliest.

Reddy instructed officials to ensure tanker supply in areas facing water shortage due to the disruption.

Officials said repair works are underway and are expected to be completed by around 10 pm on Monday. Water supply will be restored in phases after the repairs are completed.
