AS Rao Nagar restaurant fined for a strand of hair in chutney Hyderabad

Hyderabad: As the rides against several food outlets continue in the city of Hyderabad, the restaurants are continuing to serve unhygienic food. In a bizarre incident in city’s AS Rao Nagar, a renowned restaurant known for its variety of chutneys has served a customer with a strand of hair in it.
The customer, Srikhande Umesh Kumar, Founder and President of Know Your Rights NGO took to microblogging platform, X and posted the unpleasant situation that he had to encounter in the restaurant. Srikhande in post said, “Found a hair in the chutney at Chutneys, A S Rao Nagar, near Radhika, ECIL. Brought it to the notice of the Chutneys’ manager, and he accepted it and replaced the food with a new dish. However, it was an unpleasant experience.” Srikhande visited the restaurant and ordered MLA Dosa, Idly, Steamed Dosa and a water bottle, for which the restaurant billed the customer at an amount of Rs.522.

Levied a fine of Rs.5000 on the restaurant
Soon after Srikhande’s complaint, a police complaint was formed, the Commissionarate of Food Safety in Telangana took action and levied a fine on the food outlet for an amount of Rs.5,000.
Srikhande took to X and thanked the authorities for their swift action and further raised an issue of the TDS level of water being served in the restaurant. He posted, “I appreciate @AMOH01_KAPRA Garu for his quick response. Request @cfs_telangana to direct all FSOs to respond to customers’ issues when approached through calls and WhatsApp messages. @AFCGHMC Kindly inspect the premises and check the water TDS level.”
In another post, Srikhande said, “Also I would like to draw your attention to the Bisleri water bottle which I had purchased from chutneys. TDS ratings were 80, 75 & 74 when checked at my home. Is it portable if the values are below 75?”
