Malkajgiri man shoots wife dead over dispute
HYDERABAD: A real estate businessman allegedly shot dead his wife following a marital dispute in Malkajgiri on Wednesday. Police identified the accused as Arun Kumar, a resident of Maruti Nagar.
Marital dispute ends in fatal shooting
Police said the couple had been facing disputes for some time. Arun Kumar allegedly arrived at the house in the early hours along with another person, saying he wanted to talk to his wife. He then allegedly opened fire on Nisha Rani.
Nisha Rani suffered severe injuries and died on the spot.
Locals alert police after hearing gunshots
Residents informed police after hearing gunshots. Police shifted the body to Gandhi Hospital in Secunderabad for post-mortem examination and registered a case.
An investigation is under way.
Police probe source of weapon
According to police, Arun Kumar had divorced his first wife and later married her sister in a love marriage.
Investigators said Arun Kumar was caught with a firearm during vehicle checks in the Amberpet area about three months ago. After that weapon was seized, police suspect he procured another firearm through friends from the Old City and used it in the crime.
Police are also examining the role of the second person who accompanied him to the house.
