Army doctor dies after falling from 4th floor of Puppalguda apartments

Hyderabad: In a tragic incident, an Army doctor lost his life on Friday, January 3, 2025, after falling from the fourth floor of Hallmark Apartments in Puppalguda, Narsingi.
The deceased has been identified as Shankar Raj Kumar, a 36-year-old pediatrician who was posted at the Army Hospital in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. Dr. Shankar had reportedly arrived in the city a few days ago to stay with his family.
According to reports, the incident occurred when Dr. Shankar went to the balcony of his flat, where water had accumulated. It is believed that he slipped due to the water, causing him to fall.
Dr. Shankar sustained severe injuries and was immediately rushed to KIMS Hospital in Begumpet for treatment. Despite efforts to save him, he succumbed to his injuries.
The Narsingi Police have registered a case based on a complaint and are currently investigating the incident. However, the family has expressed no suspicion regarding the circumstances of his death.
In another tragic incident, a 25-year-old woman, brought to Hyderabad for surrogacy, died after falling from the ninth floor of a residential apartment, My Home Bhuja, in Raidurgam on Tuesday, November 27, 2024.
The deceased has been identified as a resident of Orissa. Reports suggest she had been brought to Hyderabad by a man named Rajesh Babu, who had entered into a surrogacy agreement with her for a sum of Rs. 10 lakhs to give birth to children. However, sources said that the woman had been trying to escape from Rajesh Babu’s custody for several years, as she reportedly disliked his behavior.
On the day of the incident, the woman fell from the ninth floor while attempting to flee the apartment. Authorities suspect that her fall was accidental as she tried to escape.
The woman, who was married and had a four-year-old son, was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she was declared dead. Her body has been sent for a post-mortem examination. The Raidurgam police have registered a case against Rajesh Babu.
