Ex-Andhra minister files complaint against son-in-law over property row

HYDERABAD: A former Andhra Pradesh minister has lodged a police complaint against his son-in-law, alleging that the son-in-law threatened him with a firearm during a dispute over property division. The case was registered at the Raidurgam police station on October 25.
Police said the disagreement arose between the two over family assets. The son-in-law, who is the son of a former Patancheru MLA, was booked following the complaint.
Couple living separately for a year
According to police, the daughter of the Andhra Pradesh political leader and the son of a Telangana leader were married 14 years ago. The couple has reportedly been living separately for the past year due to personal differences.
Property dispute led to cross-complaints
The conflict reportedly stemmed from the ownership of a property located in Panchavati Colony, Manikonda. Following the altercation on October 25, both families filed separate complaints, making allegations and counter-allegations against each other.
Police confirmed that both complaints were formally received and that an impartial investigation is in progress. They said legal action will be taken based on the findings of the inquiry and in accordance with the law.
No evidence of gunfire found
Responding to media reports about gunfire during the incident, Raidurgam Station House Officer Ch Venkanna said no such event had occurred. “No evidence of gunfire has come to notice so far. If any credible evidence surfaces, appropriate legal action will be initiated,” he said.
