Former Ap Intelligence Chief Psr Anjaneyulu Arrested In Mumbai Actress Harassment Case

Hyderabad: Senior IPS officer and former Andhra Pradesh Intelligence Chief, PSR Anjaneyulu, has been arrested by the AP CID in Hyderabad in connection with a harassment case filed by a Mumbai-based actress. He is currently under suspension and is being transferred to Andhra Pradesh for further investigation.

Anjaneyulu served as Intelligence Chief during the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) government and was considered a close aide of former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

The case stems from allegations made by the actress, who filed a First Information Report (FIR) claiming she was threatened, mistreated, and humiliated on behalf of YSR Congress leader K. Vidyasagar Rao. The actress accused Anjaneyulu and two other senior IPS officers of acting on Vidyasagar Rao’s instructions.

Earlier, the Andhra Pradesh government suspended Anjaneyulu along with two other IPS officers, former Vijayawada Commissioner of Police Kanti Rana Tata and officer Vishal Gunny. The suspension orders, signed by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, were issued through Government Orders numbered 1590, 1591, and 1592, following a report from the Director General of Police (DGP).

In connection with the same case, ACP Hanumantha Rao and Ibrahimpatnam Circle Inspector Satyanarayana had been suspended earlier.

According to officials, the investigation is ongoing and will be handled by the CID.
