Anushka Shetty team denies marriage rumours, urges respect for privacy

HYDERABAD: Actor Anushka Shetty’s team has denied social media reports claiming that she is planning to marry a businessman this year. The rumours have circulated online over the past few days.
In a statement, the team said personal lives were being turned into daily headlines without verifying whether the information was official. It added that “guesswork, assumptions and repeated publication of unofficial information are not a correct practice”.
The statement also questioned the focus on the actor’s age in several posts. “Why is the number ‘44’ being highlighted in every post as if it is controversial? If age is such a concern, why is the same enthusiasm not shown regarding heroes’ ages? Why is the narrative different only for women?” it said.
The team said the actor had never relied on publicity stunts and had built her career with dignity and talent. Targeting a person who prefers to keep her personal life private was unfair, it added.
“Not everyone wants to share developments in their life with the public. That decision must be respected. Marriage is a personal matter. It is not breaking news, not a trend, and not something to sensationalise for views. Act responsibly, respect boundaries and verify facts before publishing. Most importantly, treat heroines with the same respect as heroes,” the statement said.
