HYDERABAD: The Bhoomika Theatre Group will unveil Anubhooti, a vibrant three-day festival at Chaurah Auditorium in Hyderabad. Running from May 15 to 17, this celebration pays tribute to the enduring legacy of Udayabhanu Garikipati, revered as a teacher, director, and mentor. Audiences can look forward to a lively blend of folk traditions, contemporary performances, thought-provoking seminars, and soul-stirring music.

The festivities open this evening with a traditional lamp lighting and a welcome address. The first day features a seminar by Rajiv Velicheti on theatre as a shared journey, a Dappu performance by Prashapu Suresh Babu (Lelly Bujji) and his team, and the play Kundeti Kommu by Madabhushi Diwakar Babu, directed by Udayabhanu Garikipati.

Continuing the celebration, on the second day, May 16, the focus shifts to music in theatre. Dr. Anjana Puri leads a seminar on Rang Sangeeth, followed by a mime performance by Ravi Raj, a musical presentation by Suswara, and the play Sampangi, written and directed by Krishna Prasad V.

As the festival draws to a close, the finale on May 17 includes two plays: Bhale Paata, directed by Amulya and Yuvraj and performed by the Children’s Theatre Club, and Trikatha, directed by Sai Krishna G. The event ends with a folk music performance and an informal gathering after the closing remarks.

Reflecting its spirit, organisers said, “A legacy carried through practice, not memory. Anubhooti is a celebration of stories, people, and possibilities.”

Anubhooti is dedicated to both discovery and artistry, offering seminars led by renowned theatre scholars alongside dynamic performances. Doors open 30 minutes before the first event each day, and organisers advise that the schedule may shift slightly.
