Antakshari event unites 20 gated communities in Tellapur’s musical celebration

Tellapur: The Tellapur Neighborhood Association (TeNA) hosted an Antakshari event at the Muppa Indraprastha Villas Community Hall on Saturday, drawing over 160 participants from nearly 20 gated communities. The event, held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., saw active participation from both adults and children, with participants singing songs in Telugu and Hindi.
Dr. Praveen Verma hosted the event, which was attended by Eswara Gari, President of the Tellapur Neighborhood Association, and other executive members, including Madan Mohan, Ram Kumar, Ravi Ramana, and Deepti. Residents of the community also joined in to make the evening a success.
Antakshari is a popular Indian game where participants take turns singing songs, with each song beginning with the last letter of the previous song. The game’s origins date back to the Ramayana, where sages would sing verses in sequence, starting with the last letter of the previous verse.
The game is played in teams or individually, and the winner is determined by a process of elimination. Participants who fail to come up with a song that fits the required letter are eliminated.
The event highlighted the sense of community in Tellapur, as neighbors came together to enjoy music and celebrate a traditional cultural activity.
