Anna Canteen opens up in Madhapur, would come up in Manikonda and Kukatpally too
Madhapur: The Anna Canteens, an initiative of the Andhra Pradesh government run by the Telugu Desam Party is now opened in Hyderabad’s Madhapur as well. However, it will be fully operational from the first week of July, 2024.
In Madhapur, it was officially launched by the CBN Forum founder, Xenex Amar at the 100 feet X roads in Madhapur. Speaking to the media after the launch, Amar said that he always wanted to establish one in Madhapur. Further he said, his friends are interested to establish the same in Kukatpally and Manikonda areas as well. “Since we have been living here for more than two decades, we wanted to do something and give it back to the society. We thought of reducing the hunger of needy people. We do not want anyone to be hungry. That is our main motto,”said Amar.
‘Going with basic menu’
Further speaking about the menu, Amar said that they have kept it basic with rice, pappu, sambar and pickle. “Our main aim is to reduce hunger and we went for a basic menu and we want to make sure that people are fed fully.” Anna canteens use to offer meals at a price of Rs.5
The latest development of Anna Canteen in Madhapur took place a day after the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu signed on a file to reopen Anna Canteens. Further steps are being taken in the state of Andhra Pradesh to reopen them across several places.
In the recently concluded elections in Andhra Pradesh, the Telugu Desam Party in alliance with the National Democratic Alliance along with Jana Sena party, secured a landslide victory. The recently elected officials finished their oath taking ceremonies and are assuming the charge. Several such Anna canteens also to come up in Andhra and would offer food at a reasonable prices to the citizens.
