Upgraded Railway Station Infrastructure Under Amrit Bharat Scheme In Telangana

HYDERABAD: The Indian Railways has identified 1,338 stations across the country for development under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. Among them, 40 stations are in Telangana, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said in the Lok Sabha.

Responding to a question from MP Godam Nagesh, the minister said work is progressing at several stations in the state. These include Begumpet, Hafeezpet, Karimnagar, Ramagundam, Sri Bala Brahmeswara Jogulamba, and Warangal.

The selected stations include Adilabad, Basar, Begumpet, Bhadrachalam Road, Gadwal, Hafeezpet, Hi-Tech City, Uppuguda, Hyderabad, Jadcherla, Jangaon, Kacheguda, Kamareddy, Karimnagar, Kazipet Junction, Khammam, Lingampalli, Madhira, Mahbubabad, Mahbubnagar, Malakpet, Malkajgiri Junction, Mancherial, Medak, Medchal, Miryalaguda, Nalgonda, Nizamabad Junction, Peddapalli Junction, Ramagundam, Secunderabad, Shadnagar, Sri Bala Brahmeswara Jogulamba, Tandur, Umdanagar, Vikarabad, Warangal, Yadadri, Yakutpura, and Zaheerabad.

Passenger Facilities Upgraded at Key Stations

At Hi-Tech City station, authorities have completed platform shelters, a waiting hall, modular toilets, booking counters, lifts, escalators, and a foot overbridge. Teams are now building a new station structure, entrance porch, and parking area.

At Kazipet Junction, officials have added shelters, waiting halls, toilets, lifts, escalators, and a foot overbridge. Work continues on the station building upgrade, air-conditioned waiting hall, and parking facilities.

At Madhira station, teams completed a portico, platform shelter, surfacing, waiting hall, toilets, and parking. Work on the circulating area and foot overbridge is ongoing.

Works Continue at Mahbubabad and Nalgonda

At Mahbubabad station, officials upgraded the station building, portico, and platform 1 shelter. They also improved waiting halls. Work is underway on additional platform shelters, lifts, parking, and a foot overbridge.

At Nalgonda station, authorities completed platform shelters, waiting halls, toilets, and parking. They also installed a lift at the foot overbridge. Ongoing works include a new station building, entrance porch, signage, and entry-exit gates.
