NAGAR KURNOOL: Rumours of hidden treasure triggered speculation in Padara mandal of Nagar Kurnool district, under the Amrabad forest range.

Viral images trigger speculation over alleged excavation finds

According to local accounts, excavation was carried out about a week ago at Chakalonipadelu (Erukaloni Munta) in Padara mandal. During the digging, four tall earthen pots were reportedly found. However, it remains unclear what the pots contained. Some residents alleged that the circulating images were morphed.

Forest official says photos fabricated, no treasure digging

Amrabad Forest Range Officer Veeresham denied reports of treasure excavation. He said a former watcher had circulated unrelated images from Andhra Pradesh, falsely claiming hidden treasure in the Nallamala region. “He created confusion among locals while under the influence of alcohol,” Veeresham said, adding that the individual no longer works with the department.

He clarified that JCB work was carried out only to create a water pond at the site. The work was completed over a week ago. He urged residents not to believe rumours.

Despite official clarification, discussion over the alleged treasure digging continues in Padara mandal.
