Amrabad bear attacks Nagarkurnool tribal youth

TELANGANA: A bear attacked a Chenchu youth who was grazing goats and collecting forest produce in a forest area of Nagarkurnool district on Thursday.
Chigurla Prashant, a resident of Petralchenu village in Peddar mandal, had gone with villagers to a nearby forest patch near Chinna Bod when the incident occurred.
Villagers chase animal away; youth shifted to Hyderabad
Prashant approached a tree to collect soapnuts when a bear with cubs suddenly attacked him. People nearby noticed the incident and raised an alarm, forcing the animal to flee.
Villagers alerted the 108 ambulance service and shifted him to Achampet hospital. He was later referred to Hyderabad for better treatment.
Doctors say victim out of danger, family seeks government aid
Prashant suffered severe injuries to his hand in the attack. Doctors said his condition was not life-threatening.
Family members urged the government to provide medical and financial assistance through the Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA).
