Roommate murder shocks Ameerpet: Private teacher killed by barber
Ameerpet : In a shocking incident, a person was killed by his roommate on Saturday late night under S R Nagr police station limits of Hyderabad commissionerate. The police have booked a case of murder and further investigation is underway.
The deceased was identified as Neeli Venkataramana hailing from Alamuru village in Kurnool district, Andhra Pradesh migrated to the city in search of better livelihood. He used to work as a private teacher sharing the room with the suspect Ganesh who works as a barber.
Going further into details, Ganesh, who worked at a hair cutting shop, and the teacher Venkataramana were sharing a room in SR Nagar. Every day, Ganesh would come home drunk and disturb Venkataramana, leading to verbal altercations and eventually a severe fight.
According to the police, On Saturday late night the situation went out of control, in a fit of rage Ganesh attacked Venkataramana with a knife used in the cutting shop leading to the death of Venkataramana.
After hearing hues and cries the neighbours rushed to their room finding Venkataramana in a pool of blood. Subsequently they informed the police and called the ambulance for treatment and shifted him to hospital. SR Nagar police rushed to the spot and shifted Veknataraman to nearby hospital where he was declared dead before arrival. Subsequently SR Nagar police booked a case and started an investigation.
MIM criticizes Congress govt for increased crime in city
This incident took place, a day after the heated discussion in the Assembly on the increase in crime in the city. On Saturday, AIMIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi lambasted the Congress government for the deteriorating law and order situation in the city. He further criticized the increase in violent crimes in the city, noting the same, Speaking in the Assembly, Akbaruddin Owaisi, emphasized that, “There is an increase in murders, and law and order are collapsing. Kindly take care of this situation and bring honest and good officers.”
