Expired syrups, cockroaches found at Natural Flavors juice centre in Ameerpet

Hyderabad: The Telangana State Commissioner of Food Safety Task Force conducted inspections on April16, 2025, at multiple juice centres in the Ameerpet area, revealing widespread violations of hygiene and licensing norms.
Bombay Juice, Metro Pillar No. C1443, Ameerpet
Officials found that the establishment had not displayed a valid FSSAI license at a prominent location. There were no records of pest control, medical fitness certificates for staff, or water analysis reports. The refrigerator was in poor condition, with rusted walls and stored rotten fruits and vegetables meant for consumption.
Several food items were unlabelled. Food handlers were seen chewing tobacco while preparing juices. The exhaust fan was covered in oil and grime, and staff were not wearing aprons or gloves. Dustbins were uncovered.
Natural Flavors, Tirumala Towers, Ameerpet
This juice centre was operating without an FSSAI license. Officials found no pest control records, medical certificates, or water analysis reports. Expired syrups including pineapple, blackcurrant, orange, blue curacao, and banana crush were being used.
Soda bottles were unlabelled with no manufacturing or expiry dates. Cockroaches were found in the refrigerator. The food handler lacked basic hygiene, with no apron or head cap. Dustbins were left open.
KGN Juice Centre, Opp. Govt. General Hospital, Ameerpet
This outlet also lacked a valid FSSAI license. The refrigerator was unhygienic, with houseflies present in the juice preparation area. Spoiled fruit salad was stored for use, and several unlabelled food items were found. The overall premises were dirty, and dustbins were not covered.
Coconut Juice Bar, Vinata Complex, Main Road, Ameerpet
Cockroaches and insects were found inside the refrigerator. Rotten fruits were being stored. There were no records for pest control, medical checks, or water testing. The preparation area was unclean. Dustbins were found open. However, the outlet had displayed its FSSAI license.
A1 Fruit and Juice Shop, Door No. 69-A, Vengalrao Nagar
The business was running without a valid license. The preparation area lacked a proper drainage system. The refrigerator was rusty and unhygienic, and rusty iron knives were in use.
There were no water analysis or pest control reports, and food handlers lacked medical certification. Dustbins were open.
According to officials, all establishments operating without a valid FSSAI license or registration will be issued notices and are liable to be closed under the Food Safety and Standards (FSS) Act, 2006.
