Residents in Ameenpur raise alarm over dangerous road conditions between Bhandhamkommu and Hill Top Colony

HYDERABAD: The road connecting Bhandhamkommu to Hill Top Colony has become hazardous due to incomplete digging and prolonged neglect, according to a formal complaint by the Ameenpur People’s Association (APA).

Reports of injuries and accidents have heightened concerns. In a letter to the Deputy Commissioner of Ameenpur Circle, the association’s president, Akula Thirumal Reddy, added that the damaged road has already resulted in several accidents, injuring schoolchildren, women employees, and other commuters.

“We see that workers have dug up and abandoned the entire stretch. The risk is severe, particularly during early mornings and late evenings when visibility drops,” said Akula Thirumal Reddy.

Further, Akula Thirumal Reddy added that school buses are struggling to navigate the stretch and that the uneven surface has already caused several commuters to fall or be involved in minor accidents.

Residents are calling for urgent action. “The situation grows increasingly dangerous with each passing day,” the complaint read, urging authorities to prioritize completing the road work immediately.

The daily commute has become more hazardous for families and children. Residents of Hill Top Colony are forced to use narrow, unpaved routes. “My child’s school bus driver refuses to come all the way now. We have to walk half the distance in the dark,” said a parent.

The Ameenpur People’s Association has requested immediate intervention and warned that further delay could cause serious injuries or loss of life.

“Given the urgency and potential risk to human life, we humbly request your office to prioritize completing this road work at the earliest. Immediate intervention will help prevent further accidents,” the association added.
