Love affair murder shocks Ameenpur, Sravan Sai killed
SANGAREDDY: A young engineering student was brutally murdered in Ameenpur on the outskirts of Hyderabad after the family of a woman he was in a relationship with allegedly attacked him, police said.
Victim lured home on marriage pretext
The incident occurred at Laxmi Nagar in Ameenpur, Sangareddy district. The victim, Sravan Sai, a local resident, had been in a relationship with a young woman for several years. Friends said the two had known each other since their school days.
Police detain relatives, probe underway
Police said the woman’s relatives opposed the relationship and had allegedly confined her to prevent meetings with Sravan Sai. When she insisted on marrying him, the relatives allegedly hatched a plan to eliminate him.
According to investigators, the family invited Sravan Sai to their house under the pretext of discussing marriage. He was allegedly attacked with a bat and knives, leaving him critically injured. The accused later shifted him to a private hospital and fled.
Doctors declared Sravan Sai dead on arrival, police said. A case has been registered, and several relatives of the woman have been taken into custody for questioning. The killing has triggered tension and grief in the Ameenpur area.
