Hyderabad citizens call for resolution of Ameenpur Kamaan Road pothole crisis

Hyderabad: The residents of Ameenpur have been enduring a year of frustration and distress due to the numerous potholes and uneven surfaces on the Ameenpur Kamaan Road. The road is riddled with potholes, causing severe traffic congestion for commuters traveling between Ameenpur Kamaan and Chanda Nagar. The area from Bandamkommu to Ameenpur falls under the jurisdiction of the Ameenpur municipality.
While speaking with the Hyderabad Mail, Ramakrishna Yadav, a local resident, shared his concerns, stating, “Road work commenced before the election, and some progress was made up to the Bandamkommu Ramalayam Temple. However, the road remains plagued with potholes. Additionally, drainage work initiated for a large gated community has led to further road digging and increased potholes.”
Ramakrishna Yadav added, “Another section of the road has suffered from a lack of proper pothole maintenance due to the rain. This has been a persistent problem for daily commuters since last year.”
Residents are urging the Ameenpur Municipality authorities to kindly address the issue with a permanent solution.
Meanwhile, residents of Chanda Nagar are also expressing mounting frustration over recurring traffic jams on the Sridevi Talkies Road to Ameenpur Road stretch, especially near Bandam Kommu. The area has become a daily bottleneck, causing significant delays for motorists and disrupting commutes. Chanda Nagar falls under the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits.
Poor road conditions, marked by potholes and uneven surfaces, create obstacles for smooth traffic flow. The absence of proper road dividers further compounds the problem, as vehicles navigate erratically between lanes. Additionally, the lack of road widening restricts capacity, leading to bottlenecks during peak hours.
The situation is further aggravated by the presence of a Monday market in the vicinity. The market adds to the existing congestion, creating a chaotic environment for commuters. Residents are urging GHMC officials to take swift action to address these issues.
