SANGAREDDY: The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) carried out a large-scale operation in Ameenpur mandal’s Ailapuram village on Saturday, removing illegal constructions amid heavy police deployment.

Officials from revenue and municipal departments joined the drive. Authorities ensured that houses belonging to the poor and existing residential settlements were not disturbed during the operation.

Encroachments removed amid tight security

HYDRA demolished a guest house constructed by Mukheem despite court orders to maintain status quo since 1998. The agency also razed a six-storey building built by his brother Azeem without permissions.

Officials said the action targeted illegal structures on government land, while avoiding interference with established habitations in the village and nearby tribal hamlets.

Government focuses on protecting remaining land

Ailapuram village has around 1,263 acres of government land, of which a large portion has already been occupied by residential developments.

Authorities said the operation aimed to safeguard the remaining 860 acres. The estimated value of 863 acres exceeds ₹15,000 crore.

HYDRAA is currently taking possession of vacant lands without disturbing occupied residential areas.
