Amberpet drug raid: Hyderabad police arrest 3, seize narcotics worth Rs. 3.3L

Amberpet Drug Raid

Hyderabad: The Commissionerโ€™s Task Force, South West Zone, arrested two drug peddlers and one consumer in Amberpet after receiving credible information. The accused were found in possession of narcotic substances, including 6 grams of Cocaine, 15 grams of MDMA, 2 LSD blots, a drug consumption kit, and three mobile phones. The total value of the seized items is estimated at Rs. 3,35,000.
The arrested individuals are Solomon Susai Raj (33), a resident of Amberpet; Shaik Ghouse (34), a private employee from Amberpet; and K. Mahesh (25), a consumer and data entry worker from Tarnaka, Secunderabad.

According to the police investigation, Solomon Susai Raj, originally from Hyderabad, had a history of drug addiction. He began by purchasing local narcotics for personal use, but in 2021, he and his friend Abdu (alias Rabu) traveled to Bangalore and Goa to buy ecstasy pills, MDMA, and charas to sell in Hyderabad. The Ameerpet Excise Police arrested them.

In 2023, Solomon was arrested again by the LB Nagar Police Station under the NDPS Act and sent to Cherlapally Jail. There, he met Shaik Ghouse, who was jailed for a ganja case. After being released, Solomon resumed his drug-related activities, purchasing narcotics and selling them.

On December 21, 2024, Solomon and Shaik Ghouse were caught trying to sell drugs to Mahesh in Amberpet. The Task Force and Amberpet Police arrested the trio and seized the narcotics.

Appeal to the Public

A. Srinivasa Rao, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, Commissionerโ€™s Task Force, urged parents to keep a close watch on their children’s activities, as drug addiction is becoming a growing concern among youth. He encouraged the public to report illegal drug activities to the police to help curb the issue.

The arrests were made under the supervision of S. Bala Swamy, Inspector, Commissionerโ€™s Task Force, and D. Ashok, SHO of Amberpet Police Station, with the assistance of SI B. Ajeeth Singh and the South West Zone Task Force team.
