Amberpet couple, daughter found dead at home

HYDERABAD: Memories of their elder daughter’s death and persistent financial stress drove a three-member family to suicide in Amberpet. The incident came to light on Saturday within the Amberpet police station limits.

According to sub inspector Suresh, Srinivas, 45, and Vijayalakshmi, 42, residents of Ramnagar, had two daughters Kavya and Shravya. Five months ago, Kavya died by suicide at their home.
Unable to cope with the loss, the couple moved to a rented house in Bagh Amberpet with their younger daughter, Shravya. Police said the couple, who worked as security guards, had been struggling with grief and money problems.

On Saturday, acting on information from locals, police broke open the door of their house and found Srinivas, Vijayalakshmi and Shravya hanging from sarees tied to the window grills.
The crime scene team examined the house. Police suspect the family died two days earlier. A case has been registered and investigation is under way.
