HYDERABAD: On the occasion of his 43rd birthday, Telugu cinema icon Allu Arjun has unleashed a storm across social media with the first-look poster of his highly anticipated pan-India sci-fi thriller, now officially titled #RAAKA.

The actor took to X (formerly Twitter) to share the news with a simple yet explosive message, “The wait is over. Gear up for #RAAKA!” His post sent fans into a frenzy. Sun Pictures released the poster, which teases a dark, beastly avatar of the protagonist amid high-octane action and hints at a gritty, larger-than-life spectacle.

The team unveiled the full title poster at 11 a.m. IST on Wednesday as a birthday tribute to the Pushpa star. Shortly after, #RAAKA and #HappyBirthdayAlluArjun trended across social media, and fans shared edits and celebratory posts.

The team previously referred to the film as #AA22xA6 (Allu Arjun’s 22nd film and his sixth language project). The film marks his collaboration with director Atlee, who recently succeeded with Jawan starring Shah Rukh Khan.

Director Atlee, known for his mass entertainers, said that Raaka is a deeply personal project he has developed for nearly two decades. “#Raaka isn’t just a film—it’s a part of me I’ve carried for years. For 18 years, I held on to one idea, never letting it fade. It tested me, shaped me, and stayed with me through everything. And honestly this is just the beginning,” Atlee posted, wishing Allu Arjun on his birthday. Atlee’s message heightened expectations, and fans now speculate that the film could redefine the sci-fi genre in Indian cinema.

The birthday celebrations prompted messages from across the film industry, including Allu Arjun’s family and former rivals. Megastar Chiranjeevi Konidela wrote, “Happy birthday dear @alluarjun! God bless you!” Varun Tej added, “Bunny anna! Wish you a very happy birthday. You are truly setting standards and pushing boundaries with each passing film. #RAAKA first look is wilddd!”

With a budget exceeding ₹800 crore, the team positioned Raaka as one of the most expensive Indian films to date. The filmmakers have been shooting for several months and have maintained strict confidentiality regarding the plot and visual effects.

Following the success of Pushpa 2: The Rule, fans have high expectations for Allu Arjun’s next project. Trade analysts predict that Raaka could break box office records, given Atlee’s track record with mass audiences and Allu Arjun’s broad fan base across multiple language markets.

While the team has not disclosed plot details, the first-look poster suggests a dark, beast-themed thriller with significant sci-fi and action elements. The visuals indicate a fierce, possibly anti-hero character, a role Allu Arjun previously excelled in with Pushpa Raj.

Sun Pictures produces the film, marking their second major pan-Indian collaboration after Jawan. The producers will announce the technical crew, including music composer Anirudh Ravichander, soon. Fans of Allu Arjun, often called “Bunny,” have kept social media abuzz, with hashtags such as #RaakaFirstLook, #HBDAlluArjun, and #AA22xA6 trending globally for hours.

As Allu Arjun turns 43, he marks another year of success and introduces what may become the next chapter in Indian cinema’s global ambitions. With Raaka, anticipation continues to build.
