Allabanda valve works to disrupt Hyderabad water supply
HYDERABAD: Drinking water supply will be disrupted in several localities under the Golconda Zone and Goshamahal Circle of Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) as repair works are taken up at the Allabanda Reservoir.
New valves to replace leaking system
The board will replace butterfly valves installed at the inlet and outlet of the 10 million litres (ML) capacity reservoir after major leakages were detected. The works will be carried out from 6 am on Monday, July 6, 2026, to 6 am on Tuesday, July 7, 2026.
Areas affected on July 6
Water supply will be interrupted in Jirra, Indira Nagar, Hari Dargah, Kummarwadi, Tappachabutra, Akashpuri, Shibli Hills, Bilal Masjid surroundings, Godeki Kabar, Jali Hanuman, Jangur Basti, Abu Shatakia, 2J Bus Stop, Ziaguda and Karwan.
Areas affected on July 7
The disruption will affect Sabzi Mandi, Ganganagar, Osmania, Shivlal Nagar, Berham Galli, Gangamata, Jali Hanuman, Azam Galli, Rahimpura, Puranapul, Chudi Bazaar, Osmania Hospital surroundings, Shankar Bazaar and Jummerat Bazaar.
The water board has appealed to consumers in the affected areas to use water sparingly during the interruption.
