Ajay Devgn Devgn CineX luxury multiplex planned in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn is set to enter Hyderabad’s growing premium cinema market with his luxury multiplex brand, Devgn CineX. The seven-screen property will come up at Coliseum Mall in Karmanghat and is expected to open in 2026.

Devgn CineX, earlier branded as NY Cinemas, positions itself as a high-end theatrical experience. The Hyderabad multiplex will feature Dolby immersive sound, 3D formats, recliner seating, gourmet food options and curated interiors, according to sources familiar with the project.

Stars deepen investments in Hyderabad theatres
Hyderabad has seen steady expansion in multiplexes and premium screens, driven by audience demand for luxury viewing formats. Several Telugu film stars already operate cinemas in the city through partnerships with Asian Cinemas.

Mahesh Babu, Allu Arjun and Ravi Teja have launched AMB, AAA and ART Cinemas, while Venkatesh and Mahesh Babu are set to open AMB Classic. The Allu family is also planning another multiplex. Devgn now joins a small group of Bollywood actors investing in Hyderabad’s theatre business.

Film city project with Telangana government
Beyond exhibition, Devgn has also partnered with the Telangana government to develop a film city in Hyderabad. The project was announced at the Telangana Rising Global Summit in December 2025.

The proposed film city will include advanced production studios, visual effects and animation facilities, AI-enabled smart studios and a skill development institute, with the aim of positioning Telangana as a major film production hub.

On the film front, Devgn was last seen in Son of Sardaar 2 and De De Pyaar De 2. His upcoming projects include Drishyam 3, Dhamaal 4 and Ranger.
