Hyderabad: All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) has called for the immediate arrest of Yati Narsinghanand Giri Saraswati, head priest of Dasna Devi Temple in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh.

A delegation of AIMIM leaders led by Party Chief Barrister Asaduddin Owaisi met Commissioner of Police Hyderabad, CV Anand, and submitted a representation to take legal action against Yati Narsinghanand. This demand comes in response to a series of inflammatory statements allegedly made by the priest during a recent Dussehra gathering, targeting Islam’s Prophet Muhammad.

The controversy erupted when videos of Narsinghanand’s speech spread on social media, angering Muslims nationwide. According to the complaint, Narsinghanand made inflammatory remarks, urging Hindus to burn Prophet Muhammadeffigies instead of the traditional effigy of Ravana during Dussehra. AIMIM said his comments against Prophet Muhammed prima facie amounts to hate speech, delivered against one set of religious community with an ill intention to target and outrage the sentiments of one particular community- Muslims, who are all followers of Prophet Muhammed and hold him to the highest regard.
