Jogulamba Gadwal Panipuri Incident Leaves 15 Ill

Telangana: Fifteen people fell ill after eating panipuri at a roadside stall in Aija town of Jogulamba Gadwal district on Tuesday night.
Suspected contaminated ingredients trigger illness
According to victims and police, a group of friends visited the stall to eat panipuri around 7 pm. Soon after consuming the food, several people developed stomach pain, vomiting and diarrhoea.
Family members shifted them to nearby hospitals for treatment.
Five continue treatment in hospital
Police suspect the panipuri may have been prepared using contaminated water and poor-quality ingredients. Most of the affected persons were discharged after treatment.
Bhavita, Prasannatara, Ashwini Kumari, Suchita and Manikumari are undergoing treatment in hospital.
Police shift stall for inquiry
Sub-Inspector Mallesh said there was no danger to the victims’ lives. He added that the food cart had been shifted to the police station and an inquiry was under way.
Congress party state spokesperson Sheik Shavali Achari, along with Mahaboob Pasha, Maddileti and Panduranga, visited the victims in hospital.
