AHTU busts Human Trafficking in Lakdikapul

Lakdikapul: The Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) of Hyderabad City Police raid on a hotel located in the heart of city led to uncovering an international trafficking operation on Saturday. The AHTU conducted a raid at Hotel Akshaya in Lakdikapul and arrested two organizers and rescued three victims.
The main accused, Salim Mondal (36) and his wife Maria Imchen (27), both Bangladesh nationals residing in Puppalguda, were arrested during the raid. A third suspect, identified as Suman Kumar Guru alias Ravi Kumar, who allegedly trafficked women from Bangladesh, remains absconding.
According to the AHTU team, they received credible information that some persons are trafficking women/girls from Bangladesh/ West Bengal and other States were organizing prostitution and running brothel houses in Hyderabad City.
Three victims rescued, Two arrested
“Acting on credible information about women being trafficked from Bangladesh, West Bengal, and other states, the AHTU team raided rooms 104 and 204 of the Akshaya in Lakdikapool. The operation led to the rescue of three victims aged between 20-22 years from West Bengal, Assam, and Hyderabad,” said Hyderabad police in a statement.
One customer, identified as Nadipudi Naga Narasimhababu (27) from West Godavari District, was also arrested during the raid, said Hyderabad police. The police seized several pieces of evidence including 11 mobile phones, one DVR, and other incriminating materials from the location. The accused, along with the seized materials, have been handed over to Saifabad Police Station for further investigation.
