CHIREC students from Hyderabad lead sustainable farming project ‘AgriNova’

HYDERABAD: AgriNova, a student-led initiative by Grade 12 students of CHIREC International School, Hyderabad — Shrithika Kethireddy, Sabdha Reddy, Karthik Reddy, and Yochit Cherukuri — is promoting sustainable agriculture and farmer welfare in Andhra Pradesh.
The team has worked across 12 villages in Kadapa and Nellore districts, conducting over 100 soil health tests and engaging with more than 400 farmers. Through awareness sessions and field visits, they educated farmers on soil conservation, crop rotation, composting, and the use of low-cost organic inputs.
Students link research and fieldwork
By collaborating with local agricultural officers, AgriNova helped farmers access government schemes and adopt eco-friendly practices. “We wanted to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world impact,” said one of the students.
Digital outreach for wider impact
Beyond fieldwork, the group visited organic farms near Hyderabad to learn about natural farming techniques. They also ran digital campaigns sharing information on sustainable farming and rural development, reaching a large audience online.
By combining research, field engagement, and digital awareness, AgriNova has become an example of youth-led innovation connecting urban education with rural livelihoods.
