Tiger movement alarms villagers in Adilabad’s Bhimpur mandal

HYDERABAD: A tiger sighting in the forests of Adilabad district has alarmed residents of Yellakeshav, Pagul Ramesh and Pippal Koti villages under Bhimpur mandal. The animal was reportedly seen moving through agricultural fields near Gollaghat and Tansi (K) on Saturday.
According to forest officials, the tiger’s presence was first noticed by villagers, prompting the department to conduct field inspections. Officials said similar pugmarks were recorded earlier in the Chintalbhari forest area of Boath mandal, indicating the same tiger may have strayed into adjoining habitats.
Tiger movement linked to Tippeshwar forest
Following alerts from farmers, forest officers set up tracking cameras in the Bhimpur range to monitor the animal’s movement. Authorities suspect that the tiger might have wandered from the Tippeshwar forest area, which shares an ecological corridor with Adilabad’s border villages.
Villagers advised to remain cautious
Forest officials have urged residents, especially cattle grazers and farmers, to avoid night-time activity in open fields. They have also requested the public to immediately report any fresh pugmarks or signs of animal movement to the nearest forest office.
Officials assured that all precautionary measures are being taken to ensure both human and animal safety.
