Why Adilabad airport needs 1,765 acres now

HYDERABAD: Officials have finalised that the proposed airport in Adilabad will require 1,765 acres in total, with separate allocations for aviation and defence-related infrastructure.
Of the total land, 765 acres will be used for the airstrip and terminals. The remaining 1,000 acres will be developed as a defence township.
Defence township to include housing, training facilities
The defence township will include residential quarters for personnel, educational institutions, and a training centre, according to officials.
A proposal is under consideration to transfer about 800 acres of unused land under the Cement Corporation of India to the defence ministry to meet part of the requirement.
