Poonam Kaur renews her call for action by MAA against Trivikram Srinivas

Accusing the renowned filmmaker Trivikram Srinivas of ruining her life, the Tollywood actress Poonam Kaur has called out the Movie Artistes’ Association (MAA) for not taking any action on her complaint against the director.
Taking to X, Poonam expressed her frustration at MAA for not questioning or initiating action against the director. She alleged that Srinivas is being “encouraged by the (film industry’s) bigwigs” even after he ruined her life. She added that the mistreatment of the director has affected her physical health and emotional well-being.
“No questioning or even action taken on director #Trivikramsrinivas for complaint give in maa association for very long , he rather is encouraged by the big wigs after damaging my life which has affected health and happiness,” Poonam tweeted.

It is not clear what transpired between the actress and the director Trivikram Srinivas and how he “damaged” her life. In the subsequent tweet she wrote that she had lodged a complaint against the director and she received a reply from the Movie Artistes’ Association. The actress shared a screenshot of a purported reply from MAA to her after she filed a complaint.
The purported MAA’s reply reads, “To, Ms Punam Kaur, We have received your mail regarding the complaint on Mr. Trivikram Srinivas. As per your request we are willing to meet you on an agreed date and time at the Telugu Film Chamber premises with two female industry members, and two female non industry members on the panel, as you have requested that it be an all female panel for this meeting. We hope you can come and state your case in a clear manner in order to help us understand how to proceed.”

A few months ago, Poonam Kaur had raised the same issue in the light of sexual harassment charges levelled by a woman against well-known choreographer Jani Master, who was later released on bail by the Telangana high court.
She took to social media and stated that, “had MAA association taken complaint on Trivikram Srinivas, I and many wouldn’t have had the political suffering. I was rather silently ignored. I had given a call and then complaint to the heads, I want industry bigwigs to question director Trivikram.”
Several social media users have urged her in the past to avoid making vague references to the film personalities and publicly reveal the injustices done to her. The Movie Artistes’ Association is yet to respond to the allegations and “formal complaint” against the director.
