Mahabubnagar survey superintendent caught accepting ₹15,000 bribe
MAHABUBNAGAR: The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Wednesday caught a superintendent in the Office of the Assistant Director, Survey and Land Records, Mahabubnagar, while allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹15,000.
According to an ACB press note, the accused, Bommireddy Venkateshwar Reddy, allegedly demanded the money from a complainant to process a file for corrections to the village map of Karvena village in Bhoothpur mandal.
Tainted cash recovered during ACB operation
The ACB said its Mahabubnagar Range Unit caught the official red-handed while accepting the bribe. The tainted cash of ₹15,000 was recovered from his possession.
The bureau alleged that the official improperly and dishonestly performed his duties to obtain an undue advantage.
Accused to be produced before special court
The ACB said the accused was being arrested and would be produced before the I Additional Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases, Nampally, for judicial remand.
The complainant’s identity has been withheld for security reasons. The case is under investigation.
