ACB traps Assistant Registrar for bribery in Hyderabad

Secunderabad: The sleuths of Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) assistant registrar of Co-operative Societies, Medchal Malkajgiri District on Thursday. The accused officer was caught red handed while accepting a bribe of one lakh on Thursday.
The tainted official was identified as Bommala Srinivasa Raju, Asst. Registrar/Arbitrator, Office of Deputy Registrar of Co-operative Societies, Medchal Malkajgiri District was caught by ACB, Hyderabad City Range-2 Unit when he demanded and accepted a bribe amount Rs 1,00,000 from the complainant for showing official favour.
The accused officer allegedly demanded a bribe from complainant to do favour in the cases filed by the Navabharat Co-operative Urban Bank Limited, Hyderabad against the family members of Complainant and his friend.
Accused sent to Judicial custody
“The Accused Officer thereby performed his public duty improperly and dishonestly. The bribe amount was recovered from the AO at his instance and the contact portion i.e. the dashboard of the car of the AO yielded positive in the chemical test,” said ACB in a statement.
The tainted official Bommala Srinivasa Raju is being arrested and produced before the Principal Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases, Court at Nampally, Hyderabad. Further case is under investigation.
ACB requested the public to approach them if any government official demands a bribe through their toll free number of ACB, i.e. 1064. Further assured to take stringent action as per the law of land.
