ACB traps ADE in Nalgonda for ₹30,000 bribe

HYDERABAD: An Assistant Divisional Engineer (ADE) in Nalgonda district was caught red-handed by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on April 16, 2026, for allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹30,000.
The accused officer, Sirikonda Saidulu, posted at Devarakonda, allegedly demanded the bribe from a complainant to process and forward a pending bill of ₹10 lakh.
Bribe linked to restoration work after storm damage
According to ACB officials, the bill pertained to electrical restoration work carried out on a damaged 33/11 kV line. The line had been affected during a storm on October 29, 2025, and is connected to the Kambalapally substation.
The ACB Nalgonda Range unit laid a trap and caught the officer while accepting the bribe. The tainted amount was recovered from his possession at his instance.
Officer to be produced before special court
Officials said the accused acted improperly and dishonestly to obtain undue advantage. He will be produced before the I Additional Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases in Nampally for judicial remand.
The complainant’s identity has been withheld for security reasons. The case is under investigation.
The ACB urged the public to report any demand for bribes by public servants through its toll-free number 1064 or via its official social media platforms.
