ACB Telangana registers 17 corruption cases, arrests 23 public servants in February 2025

Hyderabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Telangana registered 17 cases in February 2025, including 15 trap cases and 2 cases involving Disproportionate Assets.

According to the ACB officials, a total of 23 individuals, including 2 outsourcing employees and private persons, were arrested and remanded to judicial custody.

In the trap cases, which involved various departments such as BC Welfare, Energy, Home, Forest, Agriculture & Co-operation, Education, Social Welfare, Panchayat Raj & Rural Development, Revenue, MA&UD, and Transport, Roads & Buildings, the ACB seized Rs. 7,60,000. Additionally, in two Disproportionate Assets cases, assets worth Rs. 4,13,78,767 were uncovered.

The Bureau also secured a conviction in one trap case. G. M. Sudarshan, Panchayat Secretary of Kotagiri Village, Nizamabad District, who was arrested in 2014, was convicted on February 14, 2025. He was sentenced to one year of rigorous imprisonment and fined Rs. 20,000 for the offense under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. He also received a one-year sentence and a fine of Rs. 20,000 for the offense under Section 13(1)(d) r/w 13(2) of the PC Act.
