Anti Corruption Bureau Rewards 220 Officers For Excellent Work

Banjara Hills: The Anti Corruption Bureau(ACB) saw a rejuvenation under the leadership of CV Anand. The agency is bringing terror among the corrupt with its campaign against the corruption. In the Quarterly review meeting held on Thursday Director General(DG) ACB CV Anand congratulated all the officers for the excellent work they are doing all over the state.

The agency which was in the news recently for cracking a whip against corrupt officials seems to not be slowing down any time soon. The law enforcement agency found a new energy with the Senior IPS officer who is known as ‘no-nonsense’ officer among the police circles – C.V. Anand took charge as Director General (DG) of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in December, 2023.

“On Thursday DG ACB CV Anand held the Quarterly review meeting of all ACB officers and congratulated them for the excellent work they are doing all over the state. He gave away commendation, cash and other rewards to 220 officers and staff including home guards and outsourcing staff who have worked very well in the months of April and May-2024. He encouraged them to improve the level of Traps and other cases” said the official statement released by the ACB. Director of ACB AR Srinivas was present during the review meeting .

Caught from big fishes

Recently the agency conducted surprise checks at 12 RTA offices including RTA check posts across the Telangana state. Most interestingly the ACB officials raided the offices impersonating lorry drivers. Some of the bi fish trapped by the raids are Sub registrar of Mahbubabad, Taslima Mohammed, former Director in HMDA, Hyderabad Siva Balakrishna, Hyderabad Central Crime Station (CCS) Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Umamaheswara Rao and others.

In the last two months Anti Corruption bureau(ACB) opened up Disproportionate Assets(DA) cases against the tainted officials from various departments including Revenu, Police, Electricity,irrigation and Road and transport officials.

ACB appealed to the public to approach them through their Toll Free Number of A.C.B, i.e 1064 in case of demand of bribe by any public servant. Further assured to take action as per law.
