ACB nabs TSSPDCL officer accepting Rs. 35,000 bribe in Hyderabad
HABSIGUDA: Sama Vijayasimha Reddy, a junior accounts officer at Southern Power Distribution Company of Telangana Ltd (TSSPDCL) in Habsiguda, was caught by the ACB while accepting a bribe of Rs. 35,000 to process a pending salary bill for another employee on Friday in Hyderabad.
The incident occurred on March 1, 2024, at around 2:20 pm when the accused officer, Sama Vijayasimha Reddy, was apprehended by the ACB, Hyderabad city range – II Unit, following a complaint from M. Bharat, an artisan at the Office of the ADE, Nacharam.
He reportedly demanded a bribe to process and sanction the pending salary bill of the complainant as an official favor.
The bribe amount was recovered from the officer’s possession, and chemical tests confirmed the presence of incriminating evidence on his hand fingers and the contact portion of his office table drawer.
Sama Vijayasimha Reddy was arrested and presented before the Principal Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases at Nampally, Hyderabad. Further investigation is underway.
