ACB nabs sub-registrar for accepting Rs. 2 lakhs bribe in Hyderabad
HYDERABAD: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Wednesday arrested a senior assistant and in-charge sub-registrar in Hyderabad for accepting a bribe of Rs. 2 lakhs.
Amair Faraaz, Sr. Asst., I/C Sub Registrar, at the sub-registrar office in Doodhbowli, Hyderabad, was caught when he demanded and accepted the bribe of Rs. 2 lakhs through Gopi Singh, a private individual, for the registration of two sale deeds. The tainted bribe amount was recovered from Gopi Singh’s residence.
Chemical tests conducted on Gopi Singh’s fingers yielded positive results. Both were arrested and produced before the Prl. Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases Court at Nampally. The case is currently under investigation.
