ACB nabs suspended police inspector red handedly while accepting five lakh bribe

Hyderabad: The sleuths of Anti corruption Bureau(ACB), Hyderabad unit nabbed police inspector red handedly while taking bribe of five lakhs on Monday.
According to the ACB, the tainted official Mattaparti Sai Venkata Kishore, Inspector of Police, CCS, Sangareddy (now under suspension), was caught by ACB, City Range -1 Unit at Mayur marg, Miyapur when he demanded Rs 1,50,00,000/- and accepted Rs 5,00,000 from the complainant Real Estate and Labour Contractor, Businessman Merugu Ravi alias Ravi Goud.
“The accused officer had demanded the bribe amount Rs.1,50,00,000 (out of which he already accepted Rs.10 lakhs) and now demanding the remaining bribe amount as Rs. 1,40,00,000 or to register two flats of the complainant (situated in Ameenpur) in lieu of Rs. 1,40,00,000 to return the complainant’s (original) three property Sale Deed documents, to restraint himself from registering false cases against the complainant by influencing his colleague Inspectors” said ACB in a official note.
The tainted officials further also promised the complainant that he will delete his name while filing the chargesheet in the case booked at Ameenpur police station registered against the complainant. Thus the accused officer attempted to obtain undue advantage for the performance of public duty, improperly and dishonestly”. The accused officer thereby performed his public duty improperly and dishonestly.
The bribe amount was recovered from the corrupt official at his instance and both hand fingers of the accused officer yielded positive in a chemical test. Further the tainted official Mattaparti Sai Venkata Kishore is being arrested and produced before the Ist Additional Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases, Court at Nampally.
ACB requested the public to approach them if any government official demands a bribe through their toll free number of ACB, i.e. 1064. Further assured to take stringent action as per the law of land.
