Telangana: ACB tracks 65 officials in graft list

Telangana : The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has stepped up action against corrupt officials, identifying 65 officers across the state who allegedly amassed assets worth over ₹100 crore.
Based on complaints received through a toll-free number and inputs from intelligence and vigilance and enforcement agencies, the ACB compiled a list of officials across departments. These include revenue, police, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, Road Transport Authority, and electricity departments.
Officials across key departments under anti-corruption watch
The ACB gathered preliminary details of illegal assets and submitted department-wise reports to the government. The list includes officials who held key roles during the previous Bharat Rashtra Samithi government as well as those currently serving in significant positions.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy directed officials not to yield to political pressure and to act firmly against corruption. Following this, the ACB intensified raids across the state.
Assets worth ₹100 crore to ₹500 crore under scrutiny
Officials under watch have been monitored for nearly six months. The ACB tracked their methods of collecting bribes and identified assets acquired in their names, in the names of family members, and through benami transactions. Bank balances and property records have also been examined.
Investigators are proceeding with raids only after collecting evidence to establish that these assets were acquired through corrupt means. Measures are being taken to prevent leaks before raids, and searches are being recorded on video to produce evidence in court.
Ten arrested already in disproportionate assets cases
So far, more than ten officials have been arrested in cases of disproportionate assets and produced before ACB courts. The bureau has also submitted detailed reports on illegal assets to the government.
The government has given a free hand to the ACB after the Congress assumed power in the state. Officials said action will continue with a focus on securing strong evidence to ensure convictions and deter others from engaging in bribery and commissions.
