Headmaster, two staff held by ACB for ₹1.5 lakh bribe in Gudur

GUDUR: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on April 8, 2026, caught a government school headmaster and staff red-handed while allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹1,50,000 from a complainant.
According to ACB officials, the accused include the headmaster of a government school in Ayodhayapuram village under Gudur mandal, along with a school assistant and a clerk attached to a Zilla Parishad High School in Mamaburabad district.
Bribe linked to CPS bill clearance and file movement
The accused allegedly demanded the bribe from the complainant to process and forward files related to the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) bill to the Accountant General (AG) office. The payment was reportedly sought to “show official favour” in clearing pending dues.
Acting on a complaint, ACB officials laid a trap and caught the accused while accepting the bribe amount. The tainted cash was recovered from their possession during the operation.
Case registered, accused produced before court
ACB officials stated that the accused abused their official position to obtain undue advantage through corrupt and dishonest means. A case has been registered, and the accused were produced before the Special Court for ACB cases. Further investigation is underway.
The bureau has urged the public to report any demand for bribes by government officials through its toll-free helpline 1064 or via social media platforms.
