ACB exposes corruption in Ghatkesar municipality
Hyderabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) caught two accused working in Ghatkesar Municipality for accepting bribes related to Ganesh immersion work payments on Friday.
According to ACB, M. Rajsekhar, Assistant Engineer(AE) of Boduppal Municipality and In-charge AE of Ghatkesar Municipality were caught red handed while accepting Rs 50,000 from a contractor.
The bribe was demanded for approving the Measurement Book (M-Book). “To approve Measurement Book (M-Book) and to forward the same for further processing in respect of the work done by the complainant during the Ganesh immersion 2024,” said ACB in a statement.

Another accused Mede Sunni, Work Inspector (Outsourcing) of Ghatkesar Municipality had taken Rs 30,000 from the contractor for writing the M-Book and forwarding it to the Assistant Engineer.
The ACB recovered the bribe amount from Rajsekhar. The chemical tests on his hand fingers and trouser pocket showed positive results.
Both accused Mangurapu Rajsekhar, AE, Boduppal Municipality & Incharge AE, Ghatkesar Municipality and Mede Sunni, Work Inspector (Outsourcing), Ghatkesar Municipality were arrested and produced before the First Additional Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases at the Nampally court in Hyderabad. Further investigation is underway.
ACB appealed to public that in case of demand of bribe by any public servant, the public are requested to contact Toll Free Number of A.C. B. i.e. 1064 for taking action as per law. The name and details of the victim/complainant will be kept secret.
