ACB charges suspended TSSPDCL engineer for disproportionate assets

MALKAJGIRI: Nearly Rs. 2 crores worth  assets belonging to former Telangana State Southern power distribution company of Telangana Limited (TSSPDCL) officer Sanku Anil Kumar were seized by the Telangana Anti corruption Bureau(ACB) on Wednesday.

He was nabbed while taking bribe which prompted the agency delving deep into the assets of Anil kumar leading to open investigation under Disproportionate Assets(DA) case. Subsequently the ACB unearthed the movable and immovable properties acquired illegally exploiting his government job.

The probe agency which is investigating the Disproportionate Assets(DA) case against tainted officer Sanku Anil Kumar stumbled upon the assets during their searches. The officials conducted searches at the house of the tainted officer and two other places which belonged to him and his relatives.

Nearly two crores worth of assets unveiled

In an official statement the ACB listed out the properties acquired through illegal money- “Property documents pertaining to 6 house plots, 4.5 Acres of agricultural land, Net cash Rs 34,11,100 and other gold ornaments”. The agency pegged the official value of properties at Rs. 1,76,06,770. Further pointed out that the market value is expected to be much higher than official value.

It is pertinent to note that earlier Sanku Anil Kumar, Assistant Engineer (Operations) TSSPDCL Keesara section, Medchal Malkajgiri caught red handed by ACB while he was accepting bribe Rs 12,000 from Bala Narsimha, Electrical Contractor to prepare work completion report. The accused officer was produced before the Special court dealing with ACB cases and further sent to judicial custody. Further investigation is underway.
