ACB catches TGSPDCL officer accepting bribe for work approval in Gachibowli

Hyderabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Telangana has arrested Kotte Satish, an Assistant Divisional Engineer in Operations at TGSPDCL, Gachibowli Sub-Division, Cyber City Circle, for demanding and accepting a bribe.
Kotte Satish was caught in his office chamber on February 14, 2025, at around 1:40 p.m. when he accepted Rs. 50,000, the second installment of a total Rs. 75,000 bribe, from a complainant.
The officer had demanded the money in exchange for completing official work, including approval of a work completion report related to the installation of a new transformer and CT meter at an apartment, as well as another electrical work report forwarded by the Assistant Engineer’s office.
Earlier, Satish had already accepted the first part of the bribe, amounting to Rs. 25,000. The second part of Rs. 50,000 was recovered from the officer’s office table drawer after a chemical test confirmed the presence of the tainted money.
Following his arrest, Kotte Satish, 43, was produced before the Hon’ble Principal Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases at Nampally. The investigation is ongoing.
The ACB has urged the public to report any instances of bribery by public servants to their toll-free number, 1064, or via social media platforms, including WhatsApp (9440446106), Facebook (Telangana ACB), and X (formerly Twitter) (@TelanganaACB).
